To listen to the morning bird sing
To watch the sun caress what came before me and what will be there after me
Nurturing it
The pines aren’t busy or in a hurry

They frequent the now
Their whisper reminds me
To stop and feel
The goodness
The ache
The praise
The apathy
And the gratitude
That I have now
