'Liquid Light Tiles' is my homage to the memories and unique charm of my childhood home, the house on Black Oak. I recently moved back into the house after it sat empty for many years and have been renovating it to make it my own. It has been a bittersweet process of remembering the past and embracing the future. While demoing my childhood bathroom, I saw all of the broken tile scattered around me and realized I couldn’t just throw them away. Using the process of liquid light emulsion, I imprinted the tiles with images capturing the essence of the house on Black Oak – from the familiar doorbell speaker to the comforting warmth of the wood stove. Each tile is a testament to the beauty found in the everyday, inviting viewers to appreciate the small details that make a house a home.
